Our volunteers requested more opportunities to interact with clients and we delivered!

In honor of Volunteer Appreciation, Feeding Tampa Bay held a different kind of family night this month. On April 13th, 49 volunteers arrived at University Area Community Development Center ready to serve our hungry neighbors. Volunteers had the opportunity to sort produce and nonperishable food into family-sized boxes and distribute them directly to clients. In addition to packing boxes, volunteers and clients could engage in a number of activities, ranging from face painting to obstacle courses to lemonade making! Altogether, our volunteers packed and distributed 190 boxes of food to clients, feeding 657 people (392 adults and 265 children).

We’re glad this event was a success and we’re grateful for the opportunity to bring our community together in the name of food.
