Goals scored by Tampa-Bay-Lightning players aren’t just for the win, they also help to provide food to local residents in need! For the fifth year, Mosaic pledged to donate $500 for every goal scored by a Lightning player at home during the season and $5,000 for every hat trick on home ice. This week, Mosaic presented a check in conjunction with the Goals for Food program for the 2017/2018 season for $85,000 – and the season isn’t over yet! These funds will benefit Feeding Tampa Bay and other local agencies like Meals On Wheels of Tampa, The Thomas Promise, and United Food Bank!
To top it off, Mosaic held a canned food drive before the Lightning/Coyote game this past Monday. Game-goers were able to donate funds before entering the stadium or bring canned goods to the game to donate to Feeding Tampa Bay. Altogether, the Goals for Food canned food drive brought in 11,315 meals for the our hungry neighbors in the Tampa Bay area. Thanks to partners like Mosaic, we can continue to strengthen our community and rally together to strike out hunger.
