Diabetes doesn't have to control your life. By listening to the guidance of your medical provider, checking your blood sugar regularly, maintaining a healthy diet, and exercising, you can thrive despite your diabetes.

This #AmericanDiabetesMonth The American Diabetes Association is taking the big step and encouraging diabetics to take control of their lives through these easy steps.

Step 1 -Acknowledgment

Acknowledge that you have diabetes and that a few lifestyle changes are going to be necessary.

Step 2 -Mapping Out Your Goals

For some, this might include working with a nutritionist, increasing daily or weekly exercise routines, speaking with a licensed therapist, confiding in family and friends, and executing where you want to be physically, mentally, and emotionally within the next 6 months to 1 year!

Step 3 -Be Active

Being active helps manage diabetes by controlling your blood sugar levels and lowers your risk of heart disease and nerve damage!
