“Trinity Cafe provided a hot meal for me for one year until I was able to find a new job and a new home.”

When 28-year-old, Adrian, lost his job he did his best to make ends meet. When his bills and responsibilities became too impossible to bare, he was forced to move out of his home with a few belongs and find hope in the streets of Tampa, FL. As he learned about his new surroundings, he searched for a safe place to eat and sleep each day. Eventually, he learned about community programs that aimed to help individuals in situations similar to his.

“Trinity Cafe doesn’t just serve the homeless; they provide a meal once a day for any one who needs one. I often ate at a table with hard working mothers, fathers, professionals, or students. Witnessing that just about anyone could find themselves in hard times, I became motivated. It inspired me to keep pushing forward and find my way again.”

“I remember being too embarrassed to ask my family for help during this time. Fortunately, with the support of Trinity Cafe and the resources they exposed me to, I was able to tell my mother that I was going to be ok after all.”

Trinity Cafe served Adrian a hot meal with dignity and respect for 365 days. They gifted him a backpack to carry his belongings and a sleeping bag to lay on at night, they provided him easy-to-make take home meals, and even helped him purchase steel toe boots in order to start a new job. Soon after he started his job, he was able to find a place to live thanks to their generosity.

“The volunteers at Trinity Cafe always welcomed me with a smile and prayed with me, offering me much needed hope at that time. They taught me to how to survive with nothing and to not be afraid of relying on resources to get by.”
