There are 2 main ways to find food in your area: mobile grocery locations or food pantries and soup kitchens. Mobile grocery locations and food pantries provide boxes of free groceries. Soup kitchens provide hot meals. Find locations for each in your area:
Click Find Groceries Near You here and select your county from the drop-down or enter your zip code to find mobile grocery distributions in your area.
Click Find Pantries Near You here, select your county from the drop-down menu or enter your zip code, and select A Hot Meal for Today for soup kitchens in your area or A Box of Fresh Groceries for food pantries in your area. Select a site from the list and call to verify location or serving hours.
Find Groceries Near You details all mobile food distributions in your area. These include FTB-staffed locations where our team hands out boxes of food, and all partner locations where we drop off food to a partner and they distribute boxes of food to the community. For this type of distribution, a refrigerated truck brings food to a neighborhood or central location to distribute at a set time. These distributions can occur once or can occur on a weekly or monthly basis.
Find Pantries Near You shows all of our food pantry and soup kitchen partners serving in your area. Food pantries typically provide boxes of produce and shelf-stable groceries, though offerings may vary by pantry. Soup kitchens typically provide hot meals. These sites are commonly situated at community centers, churches, or local organizations. Distribution and serving times will vary, so it is recommended to call each location before visiting.
Our Neighbor Services team can assist you in signing up for financial assistance programs like SNAP (formerly known as food stamps) Medicaid and more. While our direct assistance is limited to food relief and related programs, we can connect you to a variety of other resources in your area. Click here to learn more about Neighbor Services.
While the majority of our distributions do not require paperwork to receive food, some do. Paperwork is required for distributions that provide food from government programs. This information is used to determine how much food our area will receive through future government programs. Any information or paperwork our food pantry partners gather may differ by site. Similarly, paperwork is requested at some of our FTB distributions in hopes of understanding the impact of our services and may look more like a survey. This paperwork is used to alter our operations and better serve you.
If you ever feel uncomfortable with what is being asked or would like clarification on use of information, please do not hesitate to ask for a staff member or volunteer in charge at any pantry.
As a nonprofit, we rely on donations from farmers, retailers, government programs, local organizations, and the community. Types and quantities of product change based on availability, seasonality, and government grants. While our offerings are subject to change, we strive to provide well-rounded, healthy options for your family.
Yes. While our drive-thru distribution model is preferred, walk-ups are welcome.
If there isn’t an easily accessible pantry near you, many of our food pantry partners may still be able to assist. If you reach out to us, we may be able to connect you with agencies in your area who can arrange for home delivery in extenuating circumstances or who may offer SNAP applications. Applying for SNAP may expand your grocery budget and help you access food benefits in your area.
Our distributions will take place rain or shine, as long as it is safe for our staff, volunteers and guests. Any cancellations, delays or closures due to weather will be noted on our website or through social media.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, our distribution schedule can sometimes change last minute. Check the schedule daily to ensure operations are running as planned, or sign up for our texting service to be the first to know about these changes. Text FTBFYI to 833-530-3663.
Feeding Tampa Bay trucks are not present at all distributions. If you are unable to locate the distribution, please call our offices at 813-254-1190 and we will be happy to help.
Yes. Though some of our donated items are pre-packed, most of our distributions have additional stand-alone items that you can forego if they do not meet your dietary restrictions. Feeding Tampa Bay staff, volunteers, and partners will do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions whenever possible.
We understand sometimes boxes contain more food than you can get through in a week. Please feel free to share with neighbors or family, or bring it to your local food pantry.
As food donations continue to fluctuate, please know that different items will be available at different times. Unfortunately, during this time we cannot guarantee specific food items, quantities, or categories. Our team continues to source whatever food we can and we are doing our best to provide a well-rounded box/bag of food for you and your family.

Feeding Minds School Pantries bring free, fresh groceries directly to where students learn, removing barriers like time and transportation. Each pantry offers a mix of fresh and shelf-stable items, operates during convenient hours, and gives families the freedom to choose what they need. Many locations also connect families to helpful community resources.
Our School Pantries can be found here. Please note, many school pantries only serve the families of students enrolled.
To help us learn more about your school, please fill out our Programs Partnership Interest Form found here. We look at a couple of different things when making the decision to onboard a new school partner, including taking into account our agency network, meals gaps, funding, and school’s willingness to partner, as well as priorities for the school district. It’s always a big help to have this information for when opportunities present themselves to launch a new pantry partner!
Please visit our Volunteer Website to start your journey as a Feeding Tampa Bay volunteer. Our calendar will show all available opportunities for registration. You’ll also be able to see descriptions, age minimums, and total availability remaining. This website is updated in real-time to show availability, please note that all volunteer spots are on a first-come-first-served basis.
If you’d like to bring a group of more than 10 people to volunteer with us (yay!), please complete our Volunteer Group Interest Form. Before reaching out, you can visit our Volunteer Calendar to see what shifts can accommodate the group size you’re wanting to bring along, please note that Trinity Cafe shifts only allow groups of up to 10 volunteers.
Age requirements vary depending on the activity! Our minimum age to volunteer independently/without adult supervision for any activity is 16. Our Warehouse Sorting opportunities accommodate individuals 5+ (with an adult); any pantry opportunities are 13+ (with an adult); Trinity Café shifts are strictly 16+ (regardless of adult supervision). If you’re interested in bringing a group of students or kids under 16, then we do ask that your group number includes at least 1 adult volunteer for every 5 young volunteers.
There are two types of food drives. One is a physical food drive to collect non-perishable foods. The other is a virtual food drive which collects monetary donations when physically collecting food is not practical.
No, you can collect non-perishable food items in any boxes or bags, however, using Feeding Tampa Bay branded collection boxes raises the visibility of your drive and can contribute to a more successful result.
Collection boxes can be picked up Monday through Friday between 8:30AM and 3:30PM at our facility at 3624 Causeway Blvd. in Tampa. Enter through the main entrance and our receptionist can assist.
We will only send a truck to pick up the collected items when the weight of the collection is 1,000 lbs. or more, approximately 25 collection boxes. For lesser amounts, collected items should be brought to our facility. If you are unable to bring the items to our facility we can arrange for one of our 400 agency partners in the Tampa Bay region to pick up the items.
A virtual food drive collects monetary donations when physically collecting food is not practical. For example, a local organization holding a physical food drive in the Tampa Bay area may have members that live outside of the area who would still like to donate to the drive. They donate monetarily via a virtual food drive. You can register your virtual food drive here Virtual Food Drive Registration.
Our food drive flyer Food Drive Flyer lists the items we can and cannot accept. For any other items please contact us to see if we will accept the item.
